Please BOOK YOUR CHILD’S INFORMATION

The Sibling Support Centre is for siblings of patients in the care of either BC Children’s + Women’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre, or Healthy Minds Centre. The space is available to siblings on campus/at the hospitals while the patient is in care/receiving care. The Centre is volunteer-supported with Coordinators onsite.

Please Note: Only (1) booking per day, per child. If our blocks do not fit with your appointment time, please call us to discuss options.

  • Siblings can be booked at the same time. If you have more than (1) sibling to book, please call or email us to create a Guardian profile FIRST
  • Dependent on volunteer availability, the Centre may have to cancel blocks if unable to find support

Sibling Support Centre Requirements: Children must be 3 years of age or older, toilet trained and able to feed themselves

Under Three Sibling Support - Volunteer Visit: Please contact us to book a volunteer for siblings who are under the age of three

The centre volunteers will provide a safe, short term (up to two hours) play and creative setting for siblings with age-appropriate learning activities such as arts and crafts, board games, movies, video games and quiet spaces to read or rest. The centre will also provide a single-serve nutritional snack, for children who may wish to have a healthy snack break during their stay.

Our Volunteers will work to help reduce the fear and anxiety siblings may have about their brother or sister’s hospital stay and alleviate wait-time stress on families or siblings.
