The Sauder Sibling Centre provides free, volunteer-supported play space for siblings of patients receiving care at BC Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Health Centre, or Healthy Minds Centre.

Before you book

• Siblings can use the Centre for up to 2 hours while their sibling is receiving care.
• Only 1 booking per child, per day.
• Booking for multiple siblings? Please call or email us first so we can create a Guardian profile.
• Bookings depend on volunteer availability and may need to be cancelled if we cannot provide support.
• If our booking times do not fit your appointment, please call us to discuss options.

Requirements

Children must:

• Be 3+ years old
• Be toilet trained
• Be able to feed themselves

Additional support

If your child requires additional support, please call us to discuss their needs. Support, including a parent/guardian or support person joining the child, is considered case-by-case. Families must provide their own support person; the Centre cannot arrange one.

Online Sibling Peer Groups

Free online groups are available for sibling carers ages 8–12 who have a sibling with a disability and/or medical condition.

Open to families across BC, the Yukon, and Alberta! See our schedule for upcoming groups.
